The Girls Varsity Tennis team finished the season with a 7-10 record (1 more win than last year!). The team was comprised of 11 girls. All of the girls made a lot of progress each and every day on the courts. Coach Dawn DeSanto is so proud of these girls- and of how opposing coaches and players described our team throughout the season as  "class acts", "kind-hearted on and off the courts",  and "respectful and gracious whether in victory or in defeat", and remarking how it is always a "pleasure" to play the Hudson Tennis team. The team will miss their senior co-captains, Kate Manning and Annelise Hackett, who were great leaders and mentors to their teammates, and who were on the team since their freshman years.

The Henry Hudson Boys Varsity Soccer team made great strides this season, finishing the year at 7-12.  3 of the 7 wins came against rival opponents Mater Dei and Keyport. Senior leadership was key to the boys' success this year, and all 4 seniors will be sorely missed. Brendan Carlstrom recorded 234 saves this year, and Ethan Kelley scored 13 goals. Thomas Colantino and Josh Pinhas also played key roles in solidifying the defense. The team has really taken to the game, and they continue to work during the off-season on improving their skill.

Corinna VidalPlease congratulate
Cross Country team member Corina Vidal!  She finished in 4th place at the state sectional race and now qualifies for the state group 1 championship. She is the first female runner in over 25 years to make it this far.

Field Hockey

The
Girl's Varsity Field Hockey team completed their third successful year in a row, finishing with a 13-4-0 record. They finished 2nd in their division, losing to Shore Regional twice, but having their closest game with them in over a decade. They lost a heartbreaker at home for a final of 2-1. Hudson also made the Shore Conference Tournament for the 3rd year in a row, and had a home game against Lacey, whom they defeated 2-1. They went on to play #4 Freehold Twp, but lost 3-0. In the State Tournament, Hudson was seeded 3rd and had a first round bye; they then defeated Delaware Valley 1-0 in overtime to move on to the State Sectional Semi-finals where they lost to the #2 seed in Group 1 and the 14th ranked team in NJ: Madison High School. Hudson lost to Madison 9-0.

There were individual honors also handed out: Catrina Breithoff and Olivia Iannace were selected to play in the Senior All Star game Nov. 21st at Shore Regional High School at 6:30 pm. The all-division team was well represented by the Admirals with Kami Hubeny, Julia Crowther, Olivia Iannace, and Shannon McGavin selected. Freshman Alyssa Curry missed making the team by one vote; a great honor for a young lady who just started playing field hockey.

Three seniors, Olivia Iannace, Catrina Breithoff, and Natalie Berry, led this fine team to a great season and they will be missed but 15 girls are returning, including some talented freshman. There are some promising eighth graders who will be joining the program next year to keep this team moving forward to greater accomplishments.
