In September 1931, Highlands Elementary School opened its doors for the first time. Prior to that, students were educated in a variety of buildings and locations until the current brick structure was built. Today, the school educates 193 proud students. Principal Rosemary Schutz, who has been leading the school for the past two years, is very excited to be part of the celebration, “We, as a school, are excited to be celebrating this amazing accomplishment! We truly welcome the entire community to join us and we hope those who have previously attended this school come and celebrate with us as well.”

To showcase their 85 years of history and education, Highlands Elementary School welcomes the community to take a nostalgic walk through time. They will be presenting a “Celebration of the Years” as students entertain guests with songs from the various decades, a montage of highlights of the many decades that the school has been in session will be exhibited and there will be displays of memorabilia depicting the history of the school.

The event will take place on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 at Highlands Elementary School (360 Navesink Ave, Highlands, NJ) from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. All are welcome!
